In a statement to The Star, FBI spokeswoman Lauren Joyce said: “We applaud the New York City Police Department, the New York Police Department, federal and local law enforcement and our partners in the community who worked together to dismantle a major criminal syndicate in the city over the course of several months last year.”
It also thanked the “exemplary police officers who committed significant time and resources over the course of many months to assist our federal partners during the operation”.

A year later, a woman was arrested in Florida for allegedly selling cocaine, heroin and Xanax pills.
A woman in Texas last year was arrested for allegedly selling drugs on the streets of Manhattan and Brooklyn.

The federal government has issued indictments against more than 250 people suspected of operating in the drug trade.
