The First Suggestion:

This suggestion has been proposed by Dr. Mikhail Zhuravlev in an issue of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences journal, on which he made a brief presentation. Zhuravlev stressed that a person who commits suicide by hanging has a high probability of committing more murders, such as suicide, while a gun or suicide committed by strangulation has a lower probability, such as drowning or strangulation.
So, in this regard, it is likely the suicide of a person with a criminal record, could become more likely through an act of strangulation than suicide. This is according to a study by the Academy of Medical Sciences Institute of Clinical Forensic Sciences, which showed that the likelihood of strangulation suicide by gun is 1.4 times that of a man who commits suicide by shooting.
Dr. Zhuravlev is aware that the scientific evidence and the experience of police forces and judges in Russia suggest that they would not use firearms against a suicidal man if a suicide attempt was made, but only against a person who has threatened to harm himself.
