That’s precisely how the Detroit Three automakers plan to handle their car leases if they’re able to keep up this summer, according to Automotive News.
Here’s how the Detroit Three automakers are trying to keep their prices from soaring as their models get faster to market.
GM’s Buick will offer a low-interest lease option starting at $9,500. In addition, GM is developing an online sales platform for its leases. The company will be offering a free 30-day review as part of its program.
The car leasing company Enterprise Financial will start offering its own lease option through its website. Enterprise will give its customers $100 off the purchase price if they want to get into a car and pay for it over the rest of their lease. The cars in question can be bought back, for a full refund, up to two years after the end of the initial lease.
Pioneer will offer a lease program from $8,900, starting as low as $4,750, with a $250 car deposit. For $1,000 a month, owners will pay for 15 months of service and repairs on their car, which can be transferred to another vehicle as long as that vehicle does 20,000 miles a year.
