First, get yourself some old wood. You can also use some spray paint, but, for the most part, do not use paint.

Once you have a good sized section (about 1/2 an inch) of old wood on which to paint, you may want to put up a fence.

Fill the entire section (about 1/2 of an inch) of your fence about 1/2 of the way up the fence so that it doesn’t overlap. Then, place a large piece of plywood over it, to stop the paint from splashing down. (It won’t run down, but in this case, the plywood will help stop the paint from running down to the ground.)

Spray paint is an abrasive agent; you may see some bubbles coming out of the paint.

Place the fence back on the lawn, and let it dry completely.

Remove the fence, and cut out the painted area.

Then, you can get down to the business of spray painting your newly painted lawn!

When you’ve finished spraying, wash your area thoroughly with soap and water, to remove any remaining paint, and let air dry.

The most convenient place to spray painting is the inside of the house or garage; this keeps sand, grit, and grime away from the air.

Here is what it looks like after the paint has dried:

After that, you may want to place a “wall” or “wood fence”, as outlined in step 5. In this example, I’m going to put up a 2′ x 6′ “wood fence”.

Cut the fence in two. It’s important to line up the fence with the garage with the edges about six inches apart.

The “wood fence” is now complete.

Next, cover up any sand, grit, or grime.

Finally, paint these new walls.

I am not going to share anything that looks so pretty that the neighbors will see it! (They probably would if they saw it!)

After that, it’s time to trim the top of this fence. The best way to keep that “plank” of wood intact (not ripped) is to trim it from the top to the bottom; that will extend the life of your fence.

To do that, first, cut into the top (so that the edges are about 1/2 in diameter, and then remove any sharp edges).
