No. Some of the Rustoleum products may not be waterproof because:
The paint may be exposed to moisture or other water sources after applying.
The paint may not be completely dry from application and/or installation to a flat surface.
Rustoleum paints are not water resistant. Because of this, the paint may not be completely secure on any surface, especially carpet, tile or hardwood floor surfaces. The Rustoleum paint can be removed from surface with a very thin layer of water. It may be difficult to remove the paint from carpet or tile floor surfaces where the paint may be sealed in or may have embedded in them. Once the paint is removed, there is no way to put a paint protectant over the exposed paint to prevent it from coming off.
How do I know if Rustoleum product covers rust stains?
You will need a picture of the stain and Rustoleum product(s) on the substrate in a close-up from a distance that is more than 5 feet away from the stain. As you can see in the photo above, the stain is on a wood floor. If the Rustoleum product does not have a “crusted” label, the answer is “no.” If the Rustoleum product does have a “crusted” label, the answer is “yes.”
If you’ve found that your product has a yellow discoloration on Rustoleum’s wood floor stains, the answer is “yes.” If you do not see yellow, do not assume it is a rust stain. The stain is a brown residue on the Rustoleum product.
How long will Rustoleum product last?
Rustoleum products are not permanent and should not be used more than a year after their purchase date. Rustoleum products can be washed. Some manufacturers indicate that the washtime may vary based upon product specific requirements. However, the rust protection of your product is not affected much during a normal use.
How do I know whether I put on my Rustoleum product? When I use the product?
