One of the earliest examples of how it is utilized in the West dates from the Middle Ages. According to the book, “The Dance of the Eight-Balloon: Or, Tragedy of the Eight, a Musical Tragedy,” ballet was used to entertain the king and court. This was particularly evident when the queen and groom were seen dancing to “the Dancing Prince” from a musical.
The king and groom would then dance to the music, and the king and queen would get into the audience to sing along. The queen was so into music that she actually kept two sets of balls, one in every palace, and the royal staff did the same.
Why do we like a lot of dancing?
It has been speculated that dancing was an alluring and romantic form of sexual expression, and it was a popular form. The first known case recorded was when Lady Macbeth performed to an audience of 400 people in Edinburgh in 1612. However, it was only a few years later that a different dancer was recorded to be doing so—but by the time they got to Paris, he had already lost the public’s interest. However, the popularity of dancing was only renewed when the king and queen were found dancing at court.

Lefevre, who was born on July 6, 1806, moved to Paris from his native France in 1834, but died in the French trenches of the First World War. He had been a well-known and popular teacher and ballerina.
