It is not that we don’t need another dance, there is just no right time and no right place.
In spite of this, we should not forget that we had a dance before. It was called ‘Tango’ or ‘Lucha Libre’. It was a very popular dance in Europe and even in Asia. The fact that there were still a lot of students of this dance even in the seventeenth and eighteenth century demonstrates it’s popularity.
When this dance arrived to Cuba, it was already in very bad and poor condition. We’ve got to change things because they’ve already started to try and change things, and the time is long in coming when the time of the dance will be restored.
As a matter of fact, I think we’ve already lost it. The dancers have the courage and courage to continue dancing so I think it’s our duty to ensure that this dance does not disappear.
It’s important to remember that this dance has many roots going back to the past. The roots are very powerful. They are so deep that people have been dancing for thousands of years.
