This can be caused by the fat or fat-soluble vitamins (not just in sesame oil) dissolving into your saliva which would then get diluted by saliva and swallowed by the digestive tract. Sesame flavor then gets turned into a bit of a bitter bitter flavor. These two factors combine can cause symptoms described as “the taste of sesame”.

So then, don’t take more than 1/2 cup (or 1 ounce) of sesame oil per day. If you must, I recommend mixing it with some low fat dairy milk for added digestive support. If you want to experiment with sesame oil, but don’t feel comfortable cutting out
