Saffron is a very popular spice and the most common vegetable in India, so its use should be minimal due to its high price. A very inexpensive alternative is garlic. It would be very easy to make your own, and would not cost more than a couple of dollars.
I’m not interested in making myself better. I’m interested in getting better as a human. Just like the other members of the family, it’s not always easy for me to make changes or make myself better. I like to think that I am a pretty intelligent person. I know that I learned those things from my mom. She was the type of wife I should have been. I should have learned those things, and in a way, I still do. That’s just who I am.

Do you feel in control of your own life?
I did once have a real bad day. I went to the mall and tried to buy a couple of tickets, and then this guy went to the ticket window and snatched them out his hand and told me that if I didn’t buy them, I would be banned from the mall. So I ended up losing several hundred dollars. But I realized it was OK. I could have been more careful. I should have known better.
I don’t get to choose my friends anymore. My mom picked my friends, and I’m not gonna put people I don’t like on my friends list. It takes its toll on me. I just feel so lonely without my mom.
Who’s your favorite friend?
Everyone. I don’t think I really have any favorites. It doesn’t matter who they are. Every girl can’t be my best friend and my sweetheart.
Do you think of yourself as a feminist?
I think the only thing I’m a feminist about is having more power in my life. I want to use it for good things. I want it to help women’s rights. I want that woman to be able to be her own person, her own woman. I don’t believe I can create that for somebody else. That’s just not what the feminist movement is about. The feminist movement is about empowering women to not be the slave of men forever.
What’s next for you?
I’m going to go to grad school now. My goal is to find a program that will give me the tools that will help me to make the changes that I need.
