No, pole dancing doesn’t make me fit! It’s just what I do! I’ve never been afraid of anyone, my family or me, so it’s just something that I enjoy doing. I’m not trying to fit into any other category! I have a dream of winning the Miss Universe Pageant (with my dancing), but I would probably never make it if I hadn’t danced my entire life. I’m so happy and blessed to share that with a lot of people. I don’t know if it will bring me anywhere in this world, but it makes me happy. I never felt that I was not good enough and I’m not letting that happen. I’m happy for those people who have been through the same thing I’m sure most women have gone through — when you feel unfulfilled and dissatisfied in your life. I know there are other women that love the music and see the beauty in it, and I’m proud to be from Pennsylvania, home of the great Philly rock scene.
How do you feel about being a role model for these younger women?
At first I really didn’t care what people thought, and the comments from many other Instagram users were hurtful so I felt extremely embarrassed. I’ve learned my lesson and I’m really happy to have this photo that has touched so many people’s hearts! I appreciate everything my friends and family have been doing for me with words, pictures and support. They all have made me so happy and I wish I could take a picture with them in the picture to see all of the love.
And finally, what’s up with your lip glow?
The glow really came out on my face after having fun and the energy hit me hard! I don’t know why people would call it makeup. It could give off a nice glow, just like all the others I’ve worn since I was young.
What’s next for you, and what can we expect from you in the near future?
Right now my focus is back home in Pennsylvania for my wedding on March 31st, and then I am going to visit a few different states for the remainder of May. Once summer arrives I am going to be traveling a lot so I hope to be back in Philly for the summer! I’m also going to teach a pole dance class at my school later this summer and I’m planning a pole dance party in Philadelphia! My mother even offered to help me out with organizing the party!
