The New York Times posted an article on February 8 that’s about the history of the term “gay marriage.”
The article is about a couple with two kids who married at a courthouse in San Francisco last year after becoming state residents but living as same-sex couples until the couple decided to seek marriage equality through the U.S. Supreme Court. The Times didn’t mention, as the AP did, that the couple filed a civil lawsuit against the city of San Francisco in 2012 after being denied the chance to marry legally while they lived in California until they married in New York City in 2012.
