As we’ve mentioned, most people don’t have the time or inclination to train to be a professional artist, and for that reason it is difficult to judge how long it takes for someone to learn to do. But as far as speed as to learning a professional style, for each style drawing takes much time and effort. For example, learning to draw the traditional style. And the process isn’t much different for each style.
How does experience improve your success in learning new styles
experience has a real impact on your ability to gain success as a sketch artist. The more you learn, the better your technique will become and how much your technique will need to be polished before making progress!
If you try to “learn to draw a certain style” then most likely you will always do badly as they will just not come naturally. This does not mean they are bad, just that they won’t come naturally with all styles.
How to find and draw people (and why).
If you want to find people with different types of sketch artist skills, you should do the following:
Find out what their background in sketching is and if it has any particular benefits to their ability to draw
Look for examples of them drawing other sketch artists or people. You need to find people who show interest in other people’s drawings and who have the right draw style to be drawn by them
Then try and draw them and if in doubt, ask them
It is very important to have a friend who is good but not good. Don’t draw a good friend just because the sketch is bad. Get a decent friend who is much better than you and they will also be a good friend.
How to learn the basic fundamentals of drawing.
How well you see someone else is important to good drawing. So if you want to learn how to draw somebody, then first learn how to see them well. This can also be done by studying others who have drawn or seen something.
