Flappers in the 1970s were not the only people with their backs to the camera.

During the late-1970s, it was common to see women on their knees, as well.

But before the 1970s, it was more of a rare thing.

“Many, many women wore skirts to prevent the legs from getting exposed,” says the author of “Slim and Daring: An A-Z Guide to the A-Z of Flapper Style.”

“Now the ladies are completely nude,” says the author of “Slim and Daring,” Deborah Tannen. “Some women are doing things like the “I’d love to know how you do that” pose, which puts the audience in mind of being a dancer.”

These women didn’t do it simply because they liked looking at the camera.

“I think it was more out of prudery,” says Tannen. “Sometimes, it’s better to just be naked without the camera because that brings more of itself to the scene and you see different sides of the body.”

Tannen says there’s a time and a place for the nude with the camera.

Tannen says the nude poses are more popular with women who are in their 20s. They’re more conservative.

“Some of the older women would just do it for themselves, and they’d take their panties off,” she says.

The nude is also considered more comfortable. “I think most younger women are willing to do that because the poses are comfortable and you’re not looking away from the camera, so it’s not a concern to them,” Tannen says.

Even today, it’s common to see women who are nude walking around in the street.

Women often wear low-cut tops or low-slung skirts to make it easy for them to sit in public. Some also choose to show off their calves and thighs by exposing their backside.

But there’s still one thing the female nudity can’t cover.

The male body.

“The man has something more to show to the public than our female counterparts,” says Tannen. “And this is important for anyone who does not enjoy public nudity, which I do.”

The author of “Slim and Daring: An A-Z Guide to the A-Z of Flapper Style” believes the men have something to gain from a public nudity.
