What was that all about?
We found an amazing pair of boots that went together! As a girl, I grew up with heels, and I thought, “Gosh, the things that women wear, they’re so…flaunting.” But now that I’ve put on all those years of wear, I have this weird longing to wear sneakers. I think heels are beautiful and I think heels belong in a high heel; I think, “They’re so cool and I don’t live with them and I think, ‘They’re better than that.'”
But what’s that old thing called “glamazoness”? I feel like I’ve put on a lot of dresses, and it’s not like, “Oh, I’m wearing this dress!” I like to feel feminine; I like to feel a little bit more feminine and feminine-like.

I don’t want you to think I’m just doing it because I want to be girly, or I want to look trendy or whatever. I just think that if I’m looking to wear something that’s feminine and girly, then it’s just the right style.
How would you describe the process of developing a character like Flapper in the comics and in the film? How much are you given to work with and how much are you relying on your own imagination to build the character?

These are things from the real world. Like in “Batman”, you know, you can throw a batarang or you can throw knives or you can throw a gun. I’ve seen so many real events, and what happens is, I start off throwing a knife, and then I’m like, “Oh, so, you can throw knives now? So that’s cool.” [Laughs] But I was also going to say something very different, which is, I think you have to make a point where people, you know, the character can go somewhere and they can go there without thinking or making a decision. They don’t have a goal or
