What did they wear in the 20s? – 20’S Flapper Dresses On Sale

The clothes are not that popular but are a favorite of the ladies.

This picture has been edited to remove clothes and make them look neat and tidy. I want to thank my sister-in-law for this pic of herself. (I know I’ve included that photo elsewhere, but I think I owe her some props for the effort!)

I was at the mall today, but when I was going in to grab some clothes for my cousin on Tuesday I forgot. It was going to be her first day at school and I forgot so I thought it would be nice to try one of my mom’s sweaters. When I got into the store today I noticed this super cute and vintage-y sweater. (It was only 10 minutes later I saw it on Pinterest and remembered.) So I decided to look on Etsy and found the perfect pattern. I made sure to use the correct gauge. There are multiple colors, but I have been using this same pattern and it is very easy to make. I got my favorite style of sweater in brown in size 5.5 and was pretty happy with the fit. It fit her well. The front is made from a light white to match the sweater lining. You could also easily add a bit of extra fabric to the back to achieve the illusion of a fuller waist.

The sweater finished up a little oversized and it was already wrinkled to the point that I was worried that it would be too large on her. I decided that I would put a little pilling on it, a bit.

This is also the only sweater I’ve made for any of my girls. The pattern has a few variations that will work very well for them and this size. I have tried to make it easy for them to learn and keep the pattern fairly simple. It is not too time consuming, simple to get started, and the patterns are easy to follow. You could easily make this for any size child!

Yarn and Hook:

I used Bernat Super Saver Yarns for this sweater. It’s a light grey that makes the sweater color pop in color and texture!
